Textile-Inspired Texture Meets Natural Oak
Contrast Canvas is part of the Treated Canvas collection—a parquet that reimagines wood as woven fabric. The oak surface is brushed, stained in light tones, and subtly engraved with compact incisions on either side to mimic textile grain . The effect is a light grey floor imbued with diagonal striping, echoing denim or canvas with soft patina and personality.
This design preserves the oak’s inherent coloring, knots, and growth rings while merging tactile patterning to produce an eclectic, contemporary aesthetic that feels both raw and refined.
Construction, Formats & Finish
Contrast Canvas is offered in European oak, crafted in a two-layer engineered format:
- Hardwood top layer (~4 mm oak veneer) with brush, texture effect, and color lacquer.
- Birch plywood support (~5.5 mm) for stability.
Available in two total thickness options: 9.5 mm (maxi or wide boards) and 13 mm (maxi planks).
Typical dimensions:
- Width: 110–140 mm
- Lengths: 600–1,500 mm (9.5 mm boards) or up to 2,500 mm (13 mm planks)
- Available in wide‑plank, maxi‑board or herringbone/chevron layouts, depending on layout preference and space requirements.
Custom Natura or Rustica appearance classes allow selection between clean grain or character-filled aesthetics.
Optional high-performance finishes are available, such as antibacterial Silver Protector varnish or hi‑tech surface protection for heavy-traffic environments.
Performance & Eco Credentials
- Compatibility: Suitable for floating or glue-down installation, and compatible with underfloor heating and cooling systems.
- Health & Sustainability: Produced with low-VOC finishes and adhesives, formaldehyde emissions below regulatory limits, and carrying CE certification (UNI EN 14342:2013).
- Fire Safety: Meets standard DFL classification (UNI EN 13501‑1:2019) for normative safety in interior spaces.
